Parallel watershed algorithm on 2D images from cranial CT-scans using PVM and MPI on a distributed machine

چکیده

A parallel implementation of an image segmentation transform the watershed algorithm-is presented. The algorithm was implemented using the message passing paradigm, both with PVM and MPI and is adapted to a speciic application of determining the volume of liquor from CT-scans. The algorithm is applied on 2D images from cra-nial CT scans to extract the liquor parts from them. The evaluation on a distributed machine is included.
